No. Hearth works fully offline. It only joins your home Wi-Fi so your devices can reach it; nothing is ever sent to a server. If you prefer, you can keep it on a completely isolated network.
Out of the box, Hearth ships with a 32B assistant tuned for home use. Depending on the model, you can run up to 70B on Hearth Home and 128B on Hearth Studio, at 4-bit to 16-bit precision.
At idle, Hearth measures 19 dB(A) at one meter — quieter than a whisper. The fan only spins up for sustained heavy compute, and even then stays below 32 dB.
Everything — conversations, audio, files — is processed and stored on the device. There is no account, no telemetry and no cloud sync. Updates are signed and can be verified locally before they run.
Yes. New models arrive as signed packages you install locally, and you can also load your own model files through the local API or the USB-C port.
